NYO Jazz returned in 2020 in a completely digital format for two weeks of activities due to COVID-19 restricting the ability to meet in-person and tour. The 19 members of NYO Jazz 2020—ages 16–19 and representing 15 US states—were recognized by Carnegie Hall as some of the finest jazz players in the country following a comprehensive and highly selective audition process. Led by Artistic Director Sean Jones, NYO Jazz players had the opportunity to work with some of America’s top jazz artists as part of in-depth training, workshops, and panel discussions.

This digital performance is one of the culminating projects from that digital experience.
