PRINTS IN CLAY STILL, WE RISE!: A SPIRITUALS CELEBRATION

Wycliffe recently premiered a newly commissioned work for the joint efforts of The Slave Dwelling Project, Historic Charleston Foundation and the Charleston Gaillard Center in a concert honoring music spanning the 18th and most of the 19th centuries.  This powerful performance inspired by African-American Spirituals featured mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges, with piano, an instrumental septet and highly acclaimed The Lowcountry Voices performing arrangements by Wycliffe, who served as the musical director.
