Symphony Orchestra Augusta Debut

Wycliffe Gordon recently made his Symphony Orchestra Augusta debut with the Wycliffe Gordon Quartet and Symphony Orchestra Chorus on December 3 & 4 at Pops at the Bell under the baton of Maestro Kuwahara. He premiered his arrangement of holiday favorites “Greensleeves” and “Carol of the Bells” to a packed house and very enthusiastic audience.

Wycliffe’s humor and singing ability shone through when he did an Albert Collins tune “But I Was Cool” wearing sunglasses and a bowler hat, then classics like “Basin Street Blues” and Monk’s “Green Chimneys.”
